The Bruce Onobrakpeya Foundation

The Annual Harmattan workshop now in its 17th edition is destined to be permanent on the art landscape of West Africa

The Bruce Onobrakpeya Foundation is both the artist’s and the aspiring artist’s residential artistic enlightenment retreat. Set in Agbarha-Otor in Delta State, in the Niger delta area of Nigeria, it is a place to relax, to explore, to seek, to find and to extract one’s deepest artistic jinis and muses. It is a place where new, unknown, and aspiring students and master artists can be alone and can connect, interact, and collaborate under non-academic conditions and non-formal structures. Everyone has the opportunity and is expected to express themselves artistically and create inspired pieces. Some of these pieces are donated to the Foundation and can be enjoyed in their growing collection both in Delta State and at the head office in Mushin, Lagos State.
